OUR MISSION is Partnering with Southwest Montana to feed, clothe, shelter, and restore hope to those in need through the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.
OUR APPROACH At the Butte Rescue Mission, we believe that lasting change starts by meeting a person’s most basic needs with dignity and compassion. That’s why we created the 4 Walls of Protection model—a practical, wraparound approach that ensures no one is left without the essentials for survival and stability.
Four Walls of Protection
The 4 Walls of Protection model is more than a checklist—it’s our commitment to providing immediate, life-sustaining care to those in need. By addressing the core areas of survival and stability—food, shelter, clothing, and support services—we build a strong foundation that helps individuals move from crisis to hope, offering not just relief, but a path forward.
Food
We can not effectively care for anyone unless their basic needs for food are met. The body needs food to survive and many times people come to the Mission in need of the most basic necessities.
Shelter
A warm place to stay the night is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Our climate is harsh and many people will suffer frostbite or worse if unable to find a warm place to stay.
Clothing
Being equipped with appropriate clothing is crucial for survival. We provide lightly used, clean clothing to anyone in need to keep everyone safely protected from the extreme elements.
Support Services
Our support services include healthcare assistance, drop-in center support, and case management, ensuring that medical challenges, financial hardships, or lack of access to basic needs don’t lead to homelessness.
We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of those most vulnerable.
The stress of living in poverty or struggling on the streets often leads people to abusing drugs and alcohol as an escape — creating a cycle of brokenness. Our Restoration Program equips men and women to overcome these challenges and develop a renewed sense of hope rooted in a relationship with Jesus.
You can help! There are many areas to use the skills you have to help our community members establish a strong foundation which will enable them to succeed on their own.
The Butte Rescue Mission is a safe place to heal in a loving and supportive environment for anyone experiencing hunger and homelessness.
We work diligently to FEED, CLOTHE, and SHELTER every person who comes through our doors. We equip our guests with the tools they need to successfully navigate a life rooted in Jesus.
